Commercial building project located on Rua Horácio Cardoso, in Gramado, RS, Brazil. The site occupation and volumetric configuration respond to current urban regulations, incorporating the required landscaped area as a structuring element of the implantation and adopting pitched roofs in continuity with Gramado’s constructive tradition.
The programmatic organization structures the building into two independent commercial units. The ground floor accommodates more dynamic uses and establishes a direct relationship with the street, while the upper level houses the restaurant, clearly distributed between public, kitchen, and support areas. The mezzanine expands the area of permanence and enhances spatial integration, creating visual connections that qualify the overall experience.
The material strategy prioritizes locally available natural resources. Stone, applied in linear cuts on the ground floor, conveys solidity and permanence to the base. Wood, predominant on the upper levels, brings the scale of the building closer to the pedestrian and engages in dialogue with Gramado’s architectural language. The volumetric composition, defined by pitched planes and a clear material distinction between levels, seeks to reconcile urban insertion, functional clarity, and architectural identity.
