The new headquarters of the Social Assistance Service of the Rio Grande do Sul Military Police occupies a narrow, deep lot in the Menino Deus neighborhood of Porto Alegre. Responsible for supporting military police officers and their families in situations of vulnerability, the service saw its need for a new building accelerated by the 2024 floods, which directly affected the area. The ground floor has a reduced footprint, dedicated to parking and access, while the program is organized across two upper floors, where the counseling rooms prioritize privacy.
Along the depth of the site, the circulation spaces receive natural ventilation and daylight, enhancing the interior routes and reducing reliance on mechanical systems. The modulation adopted in the structure and the fenestration brings constructive rationality and economy to the whole, resulting in a building of discreet character, consistent with its public nature and the supportive purpose of the program.
